Suraj speaks about Mappillai

Suraj had directed Thalai Nagaram, Maruthamalai and Padikadhavan is now currently directing a film titled Mappillai which has Dhanush, Hansika Motwani and Manisha Koraila in the cast.

The film is presented by Sun Pictures. When asked him why he is doing the remake film, he said,” I have taken only the crux of the yester year film Mappillai. Importance is being given for son-in-law and mother-in-law clash. The romance, action and comedy will totally new. This film will show that we can do innovative things in remake film also.

With regard to Manisha Koraila, she fits the role of mother-in-law perfectly. When I chose her for the role, many threatened me about her. They said that even for Manirathnam film, she has the habit of coming for shooting at 11 a m and she will go back by 6 p m. But I told her the shooting is at 8 a m.

She was at the shooting spot at 7 a m itself. She said that the makeup will take a hour’s time and that is the reason she has come early. I was really surprised. The scenes where she and Dhanush clash will be breathtaking.

There is a remix song this film but the song has not been decided. As usual there will no dearth for comedy like my earlier films. Vivek dons the role of a person who has completed Plus 2 some years back and still behaves like a Plus 2 student. There will be comedy clashes between Dhanush and him. The comedy of this film will be connected with the story.

In the similar way action is also being significance in this film. Ashish Vidyarthi is the villain of this film. 70% of the shooting is over. The reason for completing this film so fast is attributed to Sun Pictures. The next schedule of the this film begin on May 21^st in and around Chennai.
