Velayudham
Remakes have always been safe bets for Vijay and director M Raja. With the former having a track record of films like ‘Kadhalukku Mariyadhai’, ‘Ninaithen Vandhai’, ‘Priyamanavale’ and ‘Pokkiri’, the latter has carved a niche for himself doing remakes from ‘Jayam’ to ‘Santosh Subramaniam’.And now, both have come together for ‘Velayudham’, which too is said to be a remake of a Telugu hit, titled ‘Aazad’. Produced by Aascar V 
Says Raja, “This is my first film with a big actor like Vijay. He suits to the role well. The movie is about an ordinary youngster who transforms as a catalyst to reform the society. I am hopeful ‘Velayudham’ will work big time with the audience.”
“Vijay plays an enterprising youngster while Genelia is doing the role of a journalist,” the director says and adds: “Hansika Motwani and Saranya Mohan are also doing crucial characters. Comedy will be taken care of by Santhanam and Sathyan.”
The plot is interesting. Genelia reports that a superhero is saving the city and circumstances lead Vijay to accidentally save the city from the impostors, making him the accidental superhero!
Vijay’s costumes in the movie seem to be inspired from a popular game title. Though nothing is known how long he’d be wearing the costumes, the first look given by the makers suggest Vijay’s up to something big!
Saying Priyan’s cinematography will be a highlight and Vijay Antony has come out with catchy songs, Raja continues: “On the whole, ‘Velayudham’ will be a wholesome treat to not just Vijay fans, but for every movie-goer.”
On his part, Vijay says, “Working for a big banner like Aascar gives me immense proud. Raja is known for his knack to deliver blockbusters without a break. ‘Velayudham’ is a nice story. Hopefully our combination should rock.”

Did Nayanthara threaten Meghna?
How do you feel when people say that you resemble Nayanthara?
I take this as a great appreciation. I don’t know whether I resemble Nayanthara. During the film function of Kadhal Solla Vandhen, many directors mentioned that I resemble Nayanthara. She is a leading actress. She is very beautiful and a super star. I am happy that I am linked with her.
Will you follow Nayanthara in acting?
I have got my own style of acting. I will not copy anyone. Nayanthara’s acting is different and mine is different.
There is news that Nayanthara threatened you because people are talking that you resemble her?
I did not get any threatening call from her. I have heard that Nayanthara has humanity. She is a decent actress. She will not resort to such cheap things. I fact I want to meet her and speak to her.
What is your view on the romance between Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva?
That is their personal matter. I don’t want poke my nose in other people personal matters.

Dhanush film with the backdrop of Sivagangai
The shooting of my next film will commence in the last week of August. Dhanush and Thamanna are in the lead roles. The film is yet to be titled. Raj Kiran is donning an important role in this film. Devi Sriprasad is composing the music.
Priyan who is currently handling the camera for the Vijay starrer Velayudham will work in this film after completing Vijay’s film.
In case if he has not completed Vijay’s film, another cinematographer will be engaged for this film. The film will have the backdrop of Sivagangai District. This film is a full length action film. At the same time this film will be made suiting Dhanush’s image.”
Mithran Jawahar speaks about Utthamaputhiran
The story is whether Dhanush is able to win Genelia’s love.M V Mohan Apparao and T Ramesh are producing this film under the banner Balaji Studios Private Limited. There are four directors acting in this film. K Bhagyaraj is donning the role of Dhanush’s uncle. His character will be throughout the film. His each scene will be much spoken about.
In the similar way, R Sundarajan, Srinath and Rajesh Lingam have acted in this film. Apart from these four directors, Vivek, Karunas, Ambika and Mayilsamy are also starring in this film. Balasubramaniam is handling the camera while Vijay Anthony is composing the music. This film is a remake of the Telugu film. This film was also remade in Kannada which was a super hit.
Dhanush saw this film and he liked it very much. Genelia who did the heroine role in Telugu is also the heroine of this film. I have made some changes to suit the Tamil audience. My next film will not be a remake film. This is my third film with Dhanush. I knew him closely when I was working as an assistant to Selvaraghavan. He liked my work in the first film itself. After this it was Kutty and now it is this film. I don’t know whether I will direct Dhanush again.”
Sneha says that she will not foray into politics
Sneha is donning the role of a police officer. She while speaking to the media said,” Director Kiccha approached me and asked me to do the action role in Bhavani. I had a doubt whether I will be able to do the action role since I was donning homely roles so far.
But Kiccha said it was possible for me to do the role. After seeing my photos in police uniforms I was little confident that I can do the role. But the training given by Thalapathy Dinesh’s son made me involve very much in the film.
The police personnel have been shown good as well bad in cinema. In the recently released film Singam, they have shown Surya as a talented police officer. Tamil Nadu Police are talented people and women police are also doing exceeding well.
Many are asking me whether I will act in action films alone. I will act in both the type of films. There are some people who ask me whether I will come into politics. At any point of time I will never come into politics.”
