Manobala who ambitiously got the remake rights of the evergreen classic comedy ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’ now says he is being pushed to tragedy. He says he bought the rights of the film thinking it will suit any generation. But Manobala rues the decision as no hero from the current generation is willing to work on this dual heroes film. And for the classic father and son characters played by the legends T S Balaiah and Nagesh, Manobala approached Vadivelu and Santhanam respectively. But he soon returned to his base at the same speed he went to meet them. The reason? The exorbitant remuneration the two comedians asked. Now Manobala has given up the remaking thought and is even willing to part away with rights if anybody wises to buy. He says there are some interested. But does Manobala know that there were quite a few movies that were inspired by ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’ till date? Doesn’t he remember the un-official remake ‘Viswanathan Velai Venum’ of 1987? And even if he finds a replacement to Muthuraman and Ravichandran easily will it be possible to find a replacement o T S Baliah and Nagesh? We don’t think so. |
