Director Manirathnam said that he will participate in the IIFA festival to held in Sri Lanka neither will he screen his film Raavanan there. There was news that Raavanan directed by Manirathnam is to be screened in the film festival to be held in Sri Lanka.
Various Tamil Organizations had made a plea to Manirathnam that he should not participate in the film festival to be held in Sri Lanka were thousands of innocent Tamilians were killed mercilessly.
At this point Manirathnam had mentioned that he will not participate in this festival. In connection with this Manirathnam said,” Raavanan film is yet to be completed.
The final stage work of this film is going on. How is it possible to screen a film that has not been completed? The film will be complete next month. I will definitely not participate in the festival conducted in Colombo.”
