Karan says that he chooses films and act

When asked Karan which film gave him satisfaction, he said,” I select films and act. After Nammavar, I got lot of offers to do villain role. But I did not accept those offers.

I don’t want to act in all kinds of films after coming from Kamal’s school. Those days I never gave importance to money or number of films I act. I wanted quality and name. Because of this I selected films and acted. That could also be the reason for the gap.

But I was very much careful about the story and character. Lots of films have given me name and fame. Beginning from Nammavar, Kadhal Kottai, Kalamellam Kadhal Vazhga, Love Today, and Kannedhire Thondrinal have earned me good names. After all these films I started doing lead roles.

Five films which had me in the lead roles have been released. My first film as hero was Kokki. This film was a turning point. People who saw the film were shocked. They said whether it is possible to be a hero like this. This film was a hit and also earned me a good name. My second film was Karuppasamy Kuthagaikarar.

In this film I donned the role of a positive hero. After this I did the lead role in the film Thee Nagar in which I donned the role of an ex student leader. Is it possible for a hero to sell illicit liquor? I did this role in Kathanayagan. In the same way I did the role of fireworks labor in the film Malayan.

Big people who saw this film was surprised and said how I was able to do such roles. In all the five films which I was in the lead roles, I acted in variety and different roles. I am currently acting in Kanagavel Kaaka, Kandha and Thambi Vettothi Sundaram. People can see different Karan in these films.”
