Aishwarya Rai to boycott IIFA to be held in Sri Lanka

Aishwarya RaiThere is news that Aishwarya Rai will not partake in the film festival to be held in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. The IIFA function is to be held from June 3rd to June 5th in Sri Lanka.

Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan, Sharukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and director Manirathnam were supposed to participate in this function. Raavanan directed by Manirathnam was also to be screened in this function. Invitations were extended to popular Tamil actors.

But some of the Tamil organizations protested over this. They also protested before the residence of Amitabh Bachchan. They also protested saying that our actors should not participate in this function organized by Sri Lankan Government who have killed thousands of innocent Tamil people.

So Amitabh Bachchan assured them that he will rethink about it. Tamil actors showed their protest by not even accepting the invitation cards. Director Manirathnam said that he will not participate in the IIFA and his film Raavanan will not be screened. At this point there is news that Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will also not participate. It is learnt that Aishwarya has made this decision because her films to be released in Tamil will face problems
